problem #2

Civic DX 1.4L

  • Manual transmission
  • 83,885 miles

A/C compressor and condensor need replacing. This is unacceptable on an 8 year old car where the A/C was lightly used. It's an early failure on something that should last longer.

problem #1

Civic DX 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,000 miles

Took car too Honda about engine vibration and leaking fluid. I was told the A/C Compressor was leaking and it would be $1200 for a re manufactured compressor.

A/C unit in this car has never seemed to operate properly. Anything above 2,500 RPM and the Compressor shuts off. Fantastic stuff in Arizona in the middle of the summer. I realize the compressor should turn off to help the engine accelerate but that should only happen under heavy load or near wide open throttle.

Total repairs

Complete car repaint - $4,800 (Honda pay 75%)

AC Compressor - $1200

1 Engine Mount -- $500

Going to need a timing belt soon for scheduled maintenance - APPROX $1000

Car is still being paid for. TOP Kelly Blue Book is $9,100. Car was 20,000ish. Needed $7K in repairs already!!!

This is not the same Honda Motors of pre-2000.
