The shifter very often sticks when trying to get it in 3rd gear and I have to pull it out and try again. I was told it is a known linkage problem which was fixed in later models of this generation but they won't fix it. To replace the linkage would be thousands of dollars. It is a very annoying problem and a couple have times I needed 3rd gear quickly for acceleration and it wasn't there, so to an extent, it's a safety concern as well.
