Wow Honda. You suck. You produces a horrible batch of honda civic si's. You even knew which vins were effected by a bad piston ring. i am burning 2 quarts of oil every 3k miles... not enough for honda to repair tho! must wait till oil gets worse! JOY, wonder what other things are getting ruined from the oil being burned. I appreciate the black soot that builds up on my exhaust pipe. This is going to be the next class action law suit, just like your v6 problem.... honda is unreliable and does not stand by their products.

Honda said that they were aware of the issue, but there was not a recall only a TSB.

I have to cover it myself, estimated $3-5 K.

I find it worrying that an 8 month old car should be running out of oil, causing the oil warning light to come on, after only 5,000 miles - I have never had this problem with any other new Honda car or any new car of any make. Honda sent out a man to top up the oil, but have no explanation as to why it had run so low on oil having done such low mileage other than to say 'it is normal'. Is anyone else experiencing this problem with a 2012 Honda Civic 1.8ES?
