The contact's friend owns a 2014 Honda Civic. The contact stated that after inserting the key into the ignition switch, the vehicle failed to start. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the ignition lock cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts being on backorder. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was awaiting a call back from the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 70,800.
