Evidently, this problem is fairly common. Brought it to Honda dealer, and they offered no solution. Found the part online for $20.00 from http://www.yourhondaparts.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=getJointLocator&siteid=215015&chapter=§ionids=0,2575&groupid=51862&subgroupid=5351&make=12&model=Odyssey&year=2002&catalogid=2&displayCatalogid=0 . If you can spend only $20 on a car repair, then it's a good day.

Volume controls change station. Channel buttons change volume or don't work. Down volume button increases volume, etc.
