When I told the dealer's workshop about the problem, even suggested to them that it could be a transmission problem. The manager told if it was the case the warning light, code etc. would have come up. It is a random occurrence and hard to diagnose. It continued like this for months. Then my wife really got fed up with the situation and I was not also not satisfied with the Honda Dealerships stance, we took it to Canadian Tire workshop. They changed the oil and could not diagnose the problem either.

Then I took it again to dealership. Finally after 2 years, when the car went out of warranty, told me that the transmission torque converter needs to be changed and you will be better off to replace the whole transmission; otherwise one day the transmission will be dead. The cost will be around $6000.

You be better-off selling it. But in this condition nobody will buy. One of our mechanic may buy it for $6000. He will fix it for himself.

My wan is fully loaded, leather seats, etc. and I spent close to $48,000.

Honda told me when was the last time you changed the transmission oil. I fully relied on Honda dealership and went along for any service required as scheduled.

Now they making all kinds of fuss and I am scared even to approach them, fearful they might refuse to fix it and I have to spend my own $6000 for a design problem they new about and mislead me on purpose until the warranty expired.

For sure this is my first and last Honda of any kind.

Any advice how to tackle this problem.

I am really surprised why there is no class action. What good is our Ministry of Consumers Affairs?
