CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2007-2009 was, at one point, the best selling minivan in the United States. But 2007 owners got the short end of that deal.

Peeling paint, a whining steering pump and an easily breakable A/C condenser are all top complaints about the 2007 model year. And anyone who doesn't think a busted minivan A/C is a big deal has never taken a summer road trip with kids.

I was breaking from about 40 MPH to turn into a shopping center. I had to press the break about twice as hard as other vehicles that I drive to avoid hitting the vehicle that was pulling out of the shopping center.

07 Odyssey EX with 121K. We already had the recalls done for faulty seals in the brake master cylinder years ago and then the recall for the VSA modulator. These recalls were in part supposed to address soft brake pedal/long pedal travel problems and extended braking distances. The recalls worked for a while, but what is extremely alarming is the return of the soft brake pedal problem with worse extended braking distances.

The worst part of this is the lack of warning, since my wife has now blown into an intersection without being able to stop just a few days ago. I considered it a possible one-off incident, but then yesterday she blew through a red light so badly she had no choice but to floor it and blast through the intersection completely. This could have resulted in an deadly accident for sure! Now after significant investigation it seems that the 'old' problem supposedly solved by the recalls was a small amount of air being introduced into the braking system each time the car was started. This was caused by the VSA system and was supposed to be fixed.

If it is again the same cause, the original recall resolution was not good enough and should be re-investigated by Honda for their action. I will not wait for them and will have the air bled out of the brakes immediately.

I followed recall instructions by taking it to dealer. They inspected and cleaned the VSA system noting it was operating properly at the time. Now 20k miles later, I have a VSA problem and manufacture that has identified the problem as fixed.

What do I do now!?

VSA light came on...My biggest problem was that I bought this car the day before..it was a honda certified car. I took it in because the VSA light came on and found that they sold a CERTIFIED HONDA w/ 3 OUTSTANDING RECALLS....All to do w/ the brakes..safety issues...I bought this for my teenage son...HOW COULD they sell a car w/ these safety problems and not even mention them. The salesman even told me about the recalls...and said they were fixed.. WHY BUY CERTIFIED..CERTIFIED IS ONLY A STAMP THEY PUT ON SO THEY CAN CHARGE MORE>>MEANS NOTHING ELSE>

We bought this vehicle new. Since the time of purchase the brake pedal became softer and softer.

One night while exiting an expressway, I pressed the brake pedal to slow the car down because the cars in front were coming to a stop. The pedal was soft and continued to go down while slowing the car in a disproportional amount. At some point the brakes decided not to stop the car and let the car go. I had to pump the brake and swerve around the car stopped in front of me.

This was really scary and not what I expected from a Honda.

If you have had this problem or even just the soft brake pedal please report it to the National Highway Safety Commission. Honda needs someone to help them fix this very dangerous problem.

Bought 2007 Honda Odyssey in December of 2007 and there was a problem with the brakes 2 weeks after the purchase. Initially, when the brake pedal is pressed, the vehicle would vibrate. I went to dealer to get it fixed; the rotors were adjusted which solved that problem, but 2 months later, a new problem started new problem started where the brakes were too soft and therefore had to be pushed to the floor completely for the vehicle to stop. They had done some temporary fix which meant that we had go to the dealer every 2 months, then after 3 visits they have replaced the VSA Modulator. Again after 2 months, the same problem started again, so we went to the dealer again; this time replaced VSA Modulator with Master cylinder (just 2 weeks back). And again I see the problem.

If anyone can suggest what I should do?

Odyssey LX 3.5L V6

I bought 2007 Honda Odyssey in 12/2006. Loves the engine feel and ride, but after 500miles or so, I noticed its brake was really soft/mushy. The symptom got worse and the near-by dealer replaced the master cylinder under warranty. It improved the brake feeling little but not much. It requires a strong foot to stop this heavy car. Also, when applying brake on a corner, ABS kicks in and it si truly scary. Dealer says they found no issues with the system. Honda should do something about brake ASAP or lawsuits are foreseeable.

The brake is very soft/mushy, takes a lot of force to stop the car. This could be dangerous. We might rear end someone some day. Honda better respond to situation or else there could be lawsuit in the future.
