The contact owns a 2016 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the driver's side and passenger's side sliding doors were difficult to open and close. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions, and the dealer replaced the passenger's side sliding door motors and cables twice however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the cause of the failure could not be determined. The dealer applied lubricant to the cables; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the driver and passenger side sliding door latches failed to operate. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle made a beeping noise and the door light illuminated when the doors were not latched. The contact took the vehicle to commonwealth Honda (6 commonwealth dr, lawrence, MA 01841) where it was diagnosed and the contact was quoted an estimate of $1,400 for the repairs. The manufacturer was notified and the contact filed a complaint. The manufacturer agreed to pay for 70% of the repair. The contact discovered NHTSA campaign number: 18V795000 (latches/locks/linkages) for the 2018 Honda Odyssey, which he associated with his 2016 Odyssey failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 41,000.
