I have a 2012 Hyundai Elantra with just under 40000 miles. The radio intermittently goes to all static on all stations FM and AM. Sometimes I get in the car and the radio works fine, then after driving a few miles it goes out to just static. Other times, it's all static when I start the car, and sometimes I get good reception eventually, other times not at all. It seems completely random to me. When it's static, I tried scanning for stations and got nothing. The speakers are fine and I get good sound when I plug in my phone or iPod.

array of electrical components lose power at once

My problem started about a year ago. I was leaving for work and noticed that all of my radio preset stations were deleted. I started wondering if someone was messing with my battery. This happened a few more times, becoming more and more frequent. Then one day, as I was driving, my radio went dead and would not turn back on. My clock was also off. After several minutes, the clock came back on. I was then able to turn the radio back on, with all of my preset stations deleted. As this occurred more often, I noticed that the dome light and electrical locks were also effected. Sometimes I would have to lock each door manually, or use the key to unlock the car. I haven't seen any similar problems posted, but mine are minor compared to the problems listed here. Still annoying. I did have to replace my battery once after only three years of service. I would love to know what the cause of this problem is. If anyone has any idea of what part I could replace, I would like to hear from you.
