While driving over the last month, the car shuts off with no warning. There are no check engine or other lights that come on once it shuts down. There does not appear to be any consistency in the occurences, sometimes while idling, sometimes while driving 40 mph. Up until recently, the car would restart once I put it in neutral, but it now does not restart right away.

I was driving the vehicle normally down the highway. When I exited the highway, I came to a stop light and made a complete stop at which point the engine stalled. I restarted the vehicle, the check engine light appeared, but I couldn-??t get it to register any RPMs and I was left stranded in a busy intersection until help arrived.

The oil light is blinking and car repeatedly shuts off while driving mostly when going 25-45mph. When it shuts off I have to turn it off take the key out and turn it back on until the next time it happens. This usually occurs within an 20 minutes of driving. My safety was at risk because of other cars behind me going speed limit while car automatically shuts off. Car was bought on carvana no local dealer but have taken it to multiple shops and they are shocked to hear of no recall. The car has not been inspected by police insurance but local mechanic shops. Oil light blinks while driving constantly from start to finish while car shuts off steady oil engine and battery light on.

Car started to shut down with no warning about a month ago. Took it to neighborhood garage and they couldn't figure it out. They called a Hyundai service department and they said they have seen the problem and it is a CR-Sensor. They (Hyundai service dept) sent the part to my garage and they made the repair. Car worked fine until a few days ago when it shut down again with no warning. This can be a serious safety issue if driving on a highway at highway speeds when it shuts down. HOWEVER IT DOES START UP RIGHT AFTER THE ENGINE STOPS.

Check engine light came on due to a leak in the vehicle emission system. The car repeatedly stalled and shut off when the car stopped at lights. The tachometer also failed to register while driving and difficulty accelerating worsened. During inspection of the car a leak of fumes was noted coming from the evaporator canister and once it was removed, a bent and broken connector was noted.

I had my vehicle serviced to diagnose a ticking problem I had. I was told that it's an engine issue & known to Hyundai. As I was traveling 177 miles from home, the engine lost power and failed. Thankfully it didn't cause an accident. My engine has less than 100,000 miles!!! This should not happen and every engine that experiences this ought to be replaced through a recall!! Probably, most people don't even realize this is a problem and let themselves be taken advantage of.

My 2014 Hyundai is a great car, except lately, I've experienced an issue that apparently is all too common with Hyundai's. the gas gauge is not functioning and I was told that to repair is about 800 - 1000 to repair. I'm a college student and work part time this repair is too expensive, this is a part that should never go bad and always be under warranty, it speaks to the quality of the parts of this vehicle. At this time I've been stuck a few times without gas, when I put in the gas every 2 days I have to put more in to make sure I don't get stranded again. Saving for this part has been hard for us to do. Please consider this being a repair that should be taken care of by the manufacturer. It is dangerous.

I got a tune up on my car then discovered that the misfire in my engine coils is a manufacturer defect. This needs to be fixed as soon as possible. Some times when I crank my car the engine will try to start but makes a constant sputter and then I cut it off I have to let it sit for an hour and then try to crank it again to seee if it will start. My battery, starter, and alternator are good.

The car was in motion on a street. It kept jumping and would not accelerate, the steering wheel got really hard to move. It makes a clicking noise when I try to turn it on, when I turn on the car white smoke that smells really strong starts coming out of the exhaust and the car won't drive, if I put it on drive it jumps a lot and turns off by itself. I have read an article in which many users of the Hyundai Elantra from the years 2011 to 2015 have this same motor issues. Something is not right with the engine. Even before this happened, the steering wheel feels really rough, its not smooth its not easy to move the steering wheel especially when making a U- turn or turning on a street, I have to pull really hard to make turns, I don't think this is safe.

I was driving on a state roadway, a revved the engine a bit to get over a small hill, and heard loud fan like noises, sputtering, and all the warning lights went on. No smoke came out of the car, it literally sputtered to a stop. I tried to start it, it turned over once and that was it. Tried hooking cables to jump it, even bought a new battery. After changing spark plugs, it was determined one blew. We tried to replace, same thing happened, the engine is shot, the dealer is claiming $7,000 to fix this, and I'm seeing there are issues with the engine, not just me. I work for penndot maintenance, so I'm on top of maintaining, oil, filters, check ups. Tires were a bit low, but next on my list. I need help.

When I start my car on a daily basis it works perfectly fine. Suddenly ill go out to start my car and its not starting after replacing the camshaft sensors, battery, starter and more. Ive got my car put on the diagnostic tests at the actual dealership and there is nothing shown. Ive had my car towed two times to different dealerships and ive managed to find the issue which after reasearching as well that the "range switch" could be the problem or "shift interlock". sometimes it will start and sometimes it wont start at times until I have to have it towed these last couple of times. This has been a major issue with my everyday life getting back and forth to work and with a child! its stressful! it doesn't matter if its hot or cold outside the car will not start certain times of the year.

As I was driving my oil light came on, it was flickering on and off then all of a sudden my car just stopped and the check engine, battery, and oil light came on. I took it to the shop the told me it was the battery, so I replaced it. 2 months later the same thing happened and I was told it was the fuel pump, so I replaced the fuel pump, and had the oil changed. Now it's been 3 months and I am having the same issue. I love my Elantra but this issue is causing me more money and time. No codes come up when they hook it up for diagnostics so this has to be an issue with a faulty part in the car.

The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Elantra. When the contact attempted to start the vehicle, it failed to start and all the warning indicators illuminated. While the vehicle was parked, a puddle of fuel was leaking from underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 17V769000 (service brakes, hydraulic), but the part needed for the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 81,274. A repair was made on 4/16/2017 by dealership bob howard car dealership in Oklahoma city, Oklahoma (405-634-8900).

My daughter attends a university in the los angeles area. I bought her this car thinking it would keep her safe on the hectic freeways. Three times now the car has stalled on the freeway. Each time the traffic was moving very slowly with stop and go traffic. I advised her to take it to the nearest dealership and she did. They called her and asked to keep the car because they were unable to duplicate the problem so they couldn't diagnose it. She picked the car up the next day and it still wasn't diagnosed. I've seen forums on the internet where this problem seems to recur with Hyundai and is traced to the 1) maf sensor 2) fuel system; pump, injectors, filter 3) catalytic converter. If a technician has to "duplicate" the problem in order to diagnose it, it may never be fixed! now I tell my daughter to stay in the slow lane just in case. So much for "safety".
