The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. While operating the vehicle, the driver's side tail light was inoperable. When I'm driving the lights come on out of nowhere I even complained to the dealership about this a year and a half ago and it still keeps happening seems like they don't know what the problem is either.
My rear passenger tail light keeps shorting out. Ive replaced the bulb half a dozen times now. Ive even replaced the tail lamp housing and it keeps blowing the light. This is a very common issue with these cars and the manufacturer needs to take responsibility for it and replace it under a recall. Why should I be responsible for it? theyre the ones selling defective junk to the public. Ive had numerous problems with this car. The absolute worst car ive ever owned. Ive even had the engine replaced under recall. Totally unacceptable.
Most of the complaints describe is the exact same thing happening to my vehicle engine repair 2 times.break lights burned replaced by auto zone lower control arm and tire rod in outer replaced it is so stressful hard to even talk about.
Since buying this car as 2nd owner I have replaced the rear brake bulb 5 times in 1 yr. The wiring seems to be the issue. Last week car literally doesn't start when trying to it sputters and then I have to cut it off to go finally get it to start. Today it turned over but sputtering continues 2 more times when try to to start, then 3rd time it cranks.

The vehicle was taken to pohanka Hyundai (1770 ritchie station ct, capitol heights, md 20743, (301) 899-0480) where it was diagnosed that there was a wiring issue. The vehicle was not repaired. My sockets constantly melt, the connector for my starter melted and my car would not start Hyundai wanted me to pay thousands to replace my wire harness when they are aware 2011-2014 have electrical issues, also my lights do not turn off I have to unhook my battery every time I get out of my car. My brake lights do not turn off while driving so nobody knows if im stopping or notand every Hyundai I see seems to have the same problem. I know it is a defect that they do not want to claim. I have had my engine replaced, also my brakes go bad extremely fast due to an issue with my axles that were mysteriously replace a month before I bought the car but they wont cover me because im a second owner.
Both tail light housing melted requiring lights not to work. This is a manufacture issue with housing melting malfunction. Hyundai should recall these knowing housing melting issue. The customer should not be held responsible for repair cost when it's a faulty manufacturer equipment issue
My Sonata 2013 gls when driving suddenly the low and hight lights started flickering many times. When the car is parked en engine turned off the brake lights stayed on, then the bulb burnt and melted. The dealer said I have to replace the whole tail back light because the melt.

Problem with my Hyundai Sonata 2013 gls taillights/brake lights are not turning off. The car is off, key out of the ignition, lights switched off and foot not on the brake and lights are remaining on. They stay on throughout the night and day. The worst time is while driving, they remain on as if I'm driving with my foot on the brake. This is ridiculous. I am left to figure it out on my own as there is no recalls and I refuse to pay the dealership for something that should clearly be a recall. With hundreds if not thousands of people reporting this issue with Sonatas from modules dating back that I can tell from 2007 to current. I refuse to get this car agai and as soon as I can sale it consider it sold!
My brake lights are blowing out every 2-3 months. I attempt to change them as soon as I'm notified by police or a bystander. I was told that both of my brake lights were out 4/8/2019 while driving on a main street. I went to inspect and both bulbs were completely fried with a jelly substance on there. I also took the car to a mechanic shop and was told that it could be a wire issue and need to take this to the dealership. This is pretty dangerous, the police informed that he has pulled over a lot of make models of this vehicle with the same issue about their brake lights.
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. On several occasions, while driving at night, the headlamps became inoperable. When the headlamps worked, the illumination was not bright enough to operate the vehicle safely. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
Brake lights stay on, when notice I pull the fuse when park, went for service the next day. Recall item was the problem, replace brake pedal rubber stopper, other items were done. Work was completed, paid and drove off. Four weeks later my friend said my brake lights were not working. I went back for service, guess what, I was told to fix problem my whole light housing had to be replace. I was told that when lights were on, the housing and harness melted, the rubber stopper cost me 635 dollars. The second time when I ask about the warranty, it was out. No buddy knew what cause the problem, hus, was the word.
"takata recall". I have had to change the burnt out brake light bulb 5 times since 2017. The lights have gone out while driving the vehicle and when stationary. The light socket has melted. Bulbs no longer fit as the lamp assembly is distorted. I am concerned that this can cause an electrical fire causing harm or death to me and my family.
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. While driving at night and depressing the brake pedal, the rear brake lights failed to illuminate. The contact also noticed a burning odor inside the vehicle. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road and noticed that the rear driver's side brake bolt fell out off the socket and the wire of the socket was on fire. The contact put out the fire and removed the light bulb to prevent it from bursting into flames. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 113,000.
Takata recall -all of the exterior lights on the car will blow within a few weeks of replacing. -the back lights will melt into the bulb socket and require the entire unit to be replaced. -the brake lights all shut off, even though the bulbs are fine. - cruise control wont work (this came on at the same time of the computer update on engine recall. -traction control warning light came on after recall to update computer on engine (from previous engine recall) -my radio completely stopped working after the initial recall for engine replacement.
Rear tail light out. Unable to change bulb as it has melted to assembly apparatus. Bulb appears black. Research online revealed a multitude of owners having electrical issues relating to tail lights; requires frequent bulb replacement. Risk of bulb bursting/fire hazard is present.
