Affected Component: BACK OVER PREVENTION

Summary
Part Description: Steering Column and Seals. Issue Description: If the customer complains of a steering column squeak when turning the wheel in low speed maneuvers (parking lot, driveway) in cold weather, the following inspection procedure will assist in preventing a misdiagnosis.~ Inspect the suspension front coil spring to isolators. This can be done by first letting the vehicle cold soak. The noise is normally heard in temperatures ranging from 15- 40 degrees (F). With one person in the vehicle turning the steering wheel, place your hand on the front spring. If a vibration is felt when the noise is heard by the vehicle occupant, the issue is from the front suspension ? not in the steering column. Do not service the steering column.
