The contact's daughter owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, there was an abnormal sound coming from underneath the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that there was a crack in the exhaust pipe and that the exhaust system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall related to the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.
