I was driving in Vermont at nights and my headlights stopped working. Very scary considering that it was dark as hell. Over the past month they have worked one night then not the next. They would sometimes flicker on 3 times then off completely. For the last month I have been a reverse vampire for I have had to be home before dark as I couldn't ensure that they would work on a given day and couldn't afford dealership price gouging! I had 2 mechanic friends of mine check it out and did a lot of investigation online prior to breaking down and bringing it to a dealership. During my investigation I found that there was a class action lawsuit for this issue and there is a current recall on this particular issue, however not on my specific jeep. I also found a ton of complaints !!
The Jeep dealership told me that it was a faulty Totally Integrated Power Module and would cost over $1400. I contacted Chrysler directly and was advised that since there is not a recall on my specific Jeep they could not offer me any assistance in the huge financial hit that I have taken!!
Thank you for listening.
