CarComplaints.com Notes: Kia really changed the design of the Sorento in the 2011 model year. Instead of a truck-like body-on-frame more capable of offroad adventures, the newest Sorento is a unibody construction and is much more crossover than sport utility. The changes brought a whole slew of problems, including a frustrating problem where the door that won’t open. Is it too late to go back?

This 2011 Kia Sorento LX is a V6, key start with 13,000 miles purchased new in December 2010. The problem started as a clicking noise occurring between reverse and drive. Then the clicking became more noticeable when I pushed on the brake. It did not happen every time but enough to be annoying and causing concern of what the noise meant. I took it into the dealership where they asked me to show them the problem. The noise was especially loud between neutral and drive. They replaced a defective shifter. This fixed the clicking.
