I was driving the car at approximately 40 mph. The engine light flashed on briefly. I immediately lost power and had no acceleration. The light went off but the car stopped. The incident put myself and others at risk as I lost power and was in an area where I shouldn't have stopped and it became a traffic hazard. The car is currently at the KIA dealership. There were not prior lights, messages or symptoms prior to the failure. I am the first and only owner with approx 55 k miles. Never had an issue before. Dealership conducted all oil changes and maintenance.
Warning engine light keeps activating saying major fuel leak. Supposed recall sc 172 but according to kia, not associated with my vin and needed to be reported
The car engine was using excessive amounts of oil at 80,000 miles. The dealer in an attempt to save the engine did a major flush. Several components failed within 10,000 miles of that service. Spark plugs, fuel pump and catalytic converter. The car would lurch forward. It stalled at 65 mph! We were scared it would start on fire or stall again. The first time it happened there were no warning lights. After the spark plugs and fuel pump were replaced there was an engine warning light on. The dealer did check it out and the latest test revealed a hole in the catalytic converter. They could not guarantee that that was the only issue. We chose not to have any additional repairs and sold the car at a loss because we were scared to have our grandkids in the car.
The engine is failing with the light on. It is not getting enough power and is a safety risk. I only have had the car for a year and a half and the dealership I have gotten it from won't do anything. It has had a air compression test, new spark plugs, and has been reviewed by multiply parties saying it is not deem road safety. I called the Kia dealership and it says all the recalls were done but it doesn't seem like it. They are saying i pretty much need a new engine, I have not even had the car that long.
I just purchased my Kia Sorento in March of 2021. It doesn-??t notify you when oil is LOW or OUT. Even with proper oil changes. Also the engine randomly started to overheat regardless that it-??s barley got 107 miles on it. Of course there-??s several recalls for this particular vehicle for the same issues but not for mine specifically. Insurance won-??t cover wear and tear so now my cars in the shop for who knows how long with an extremely high bill expected.

My check engine light came on back in 2018 or 19 I have since been going to the Kia dealership with this issue making multiple attempts to resolve. I have had them replace oxygen sensors flushed fuel induction system and other things that they recommended. This did not resolve the issue at one point back in 2019 Kia had my vehicle for over 45 days almost 60 days to return it to me without knowing what the issue is and making recommendations to replace very expensive parts. I have since taken the vehicle back for regular repairs and services. No I have come to the place where my vehicle is in need of an engine as a result of this ongoing issue that seems to be an issue with the same make and model for other individuals. A check engine light fuel issues and now a shot engine
2016 Kia Sorento has had problems with fuel pump and probably that fuel line so I had to have it replaced and then now see a recall for those so is this newer recall or what and also what could i do if i had private ASE certified mechanic fix this and the Kia has a little over 84k miles on it. Does Kia have to reimburse me for this and for the labor work done to or can you please tell me what I can do. Thankyou
Hello I am going to be blunt and straight to the point. Your $30,000 vehicle, financed, approved and paid for by me nearly stole my life on Jan 16, 2021 : on mile post 46 on I-40, East bound lanes in kingman, Arizona at approximately 3:00 pm on what was a beautiful trip through route 66, which soon became a death trap my partner: Anthony [xxx], co-financer and signer of this death-trap as well as our two innocent parson russell terriers were nearly burned to death in what could and should have been an explosion like that of the press Kia & the likes are being sued for. Numerous innocent lives have been excruciatingly ended due to greed, decite and blatant disregard for life to add to an already gluttonous bank account, as you suck and drain me dry all the while aware of the danger you knowingly make us legally pay for. I filed an extensive report and complaint with Kia and now you. My case number is at the beginning of this letter, I suggest B you get a hold of Kia customer care, just as I had to after nearly losing my soulmate, dogs and life to be stranded in the middle of a state we hace never been, no money, food or vehicle nyiu just charhed me for. I have provided my case number and I expect all payment to cease and be returned immediately to avoid involvement in this disgusting act of distaste of honesty. I am never paying a penny more for your direct, ignorant and abhorrent yet blatant actions. We were driving on the highway at regular highway speeds. I noticed a greenish liquid leaking on 12/4/20 after I had put the car in park. Not sure what it is but I do see there is a recall but not on my car specificlly
My vehicle started running hot after driving down the highway and kept cutting off out of the blue. Then I checked all the coolant and radiator to see if fluid was leaking no sign of a crack. Then took it to O'reillys auto parts because check engine lighr shows codes P0087, defected transmission fluid temperature sensor, defected PCM/tcm. Poor connector and the fuel rail pressure sensor. After having it towed to Kia they open it up and said I needed a new engine and my head gasket was cracked. And
The contact owned a 2016 Kia Sorento. The contact stated that while driving another vehicle continued to flash their lights and blow their horn at them. The contact stated they decided to pull over to find out that their vehicle was fire coming from underneath where the fuel lines were. The fire caused glass to shatter and caused a larger fire. The fire department filed report. The vehicle was towed and deemed totaled. The contact did not receive any injuries. The contact contacted the dealer (buchanan Kia 119 railroad ave, westminster, md 21157; (410) 876-2251) who informed the contact that their vehicle was included in a recall and provided the paperwork for all previous recalls for further investigation purposes. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000.
Vehicle engine broke down on highway at 62K miles with loss of power and heavy smoke. Ultimately had to get new engine installed by the dealer but literally day after they returned the vehicle, it lost power on the road again with heavy smell of gas. Dealer said they fixed the fuel injector and O-ring but once again having same issue in Sep (after minimal driving for past couple months). Vehicle still with dealer because they diagnosis issue after replacing fuel injector and gasket again. Something is wrong with the V6 Kia Sorento engines and fuel system.
I brought my 2016 Kia Sorento in the dealer for check engine light (code P0172). After the evaluated it, they said the fuel pump and fuel lines need to be replaced because it's leaking fuel into the engine and the engine needs an oil change because the oil is diluted with fuel. They said the fuel pump and fuel line is covered under the warranty but the oil change isn't. this fuel system issue is every similar to the recalls that were reported on January 17, 2019 but my car didn't fall under the recall. Could this be part of the recall?
Driving on highway at 65 miles per hour and car suddenly lost all power and came to complete stop in heavy traffic. Vehicle restarted after 2 attempts. Took to Kia dealer for inspection and there was no recorded code and they were unable to re-create issue so nothing was done. Reading other complaints of sudden stalls on this site makes driving this vehicle scary. The vehicle has only 31K miles on it and has had no other issues. Kia should be doing something before someone has a tragic accident!
I can't accelerate my 2016 Kia Sorento. Slow down in the highway. Had to tow home. My vehicle have 72K miles. Others 2016 have recall for that, no mine.
"takata recall" Kia Sorento 2016 model sx-AWD it started making weird noises from the engine and felt little thumps when I press on the accelerator and binding noise from the rear of the vehicle from the beginning of 2019. The car does not exceed over 90mph.
The contact owns a 2016 Kia Sorento. While attempting to refuel the vehicle, fuel spewed out of the fueling hole. The fuel nozzle would continue to click while fueling. The contact indicated that the failure would occur regardless of how much fuel was in the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to nationwide Kia (22 w. timonium rd, timonium, md) where it was diagnosed that the vapor recovery line was damaged by insects. The recovery line was repaired and the failure was remedied. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 16,500.
