Inspected at dealer for smell of burning oil on exhaust. Technician reported oil leakage "at 2 places at head gasket". No overheating, no coolant loss, no coolant/oil mixing noted.
Dealer strongly advised me not to drive vehicle any further and provided a loaner. Vehicle sat in dealer service for one week until they could "tear it down and inspect it to send the report to Kia".
At one week mark, dealer service informed me that the problem was submitted to Kia and they were waiting for instruction on how to proceed.
Dealer service contacted me again on 4/8 to tell me that "Kia is making us get more measurements and more info". Dealer service is puzzled why Kia is making them do so much work for an issue that has been acknowledged by Kia and is clearly under terms of warranty.
So now we sit and wait for Kia to issue instructions for warranty work.
