Murano Platinum V6

Driving on interstate where the estimated miles left in the gas tank is 100 - light turns on at 60. cruising along at 58/59 mph and car will just stop accelerating or it will stop accelerating and then accelerate, stop, go, etc. It is scary as heck! I have to pull off the side of the road and get to a gas station by going slow. Once I am full, it's fine.

I get that all I have to do is keep gas in the tank, but why is it telling me I have gas, if I don't? I have taken it to the dealership, but since no codes are triggered, they don't know what is wrong. Grrr...

Murano SV

  • Automatic transmission

I noticed a few months ago that my 2015 Nissan Murano was stalling when the gas got low. I tried to keep the gas light from coming on because that's what seems to have caused the problem. However, the other day I was at a quarter tank and on the highway and the car would not go past 60 mph. When I accelerated, the car just stalled out. I had to try to maneuver off of the interstate in five o'clock traffic and put gas into the car. I took a video of the incident to show to the dealer, but of course they "ran tests but couldn't duplicate the problem". So I'm stuck paying $30,000+ for a car that I can't trust. This is my third Nissan car, but trust me there won't be a fourth one.
