CarComplaints.com Notes: While there are fewer "radiator leaked into transmission" complaints for the 2008 model year, they are starting to pile up. Buyer beware.

Nissan has extended their radiator warranty on 2005-2010 Pathfinders to 8 years/80,000 miles. However the average mileage for transmission failure for earlier model years is 95,000 miles, which conveniently (for Nissan) is just past the limit of their extended warranty. Owners beware.

Pathfinder V6

The vehicle would not shift out of first gear, the entire car was shaking, vibrating, and there was a grinding sound of gears as it would not shift. The was a very loud sound that was like humming as well. The car just suddenly acted this way. No warnings. I was absolutely terrified as I put on the hazards and inched my way back home. To make it worse, the car died and had to be restarted... MULTIPLE times.... putting myself and my son in danger while driving. So lucky to get home safely as there was not much traffic at all.

I WAS UNDER THE GOLD PKG WARRANTY AND HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED ABOUT 80,000 MILES. Now with my warranty why when you replaced my transmission didn't you replace the transfer case?
