Had AC go out while living in Arizona. Originally had complete ac system REPLACED. Did not fix it. Changed mechanics. New mech diagnosed a small fuse-like relay component that was located up in my dash, behind the glove compartment. $5.00 part. AC works perfectly now. I love a mechanic who can diagnose rather than just replace components. He even showed me where this was located and how it had 'just blown like a fuse'.
Anybody else with AC problems, before you spend the $$$$ on replacing complete system. I think it was called a thermostor, the part he replaced.
