The Xterra 2011 web site says that the iPod connector works with 6th generation iPods and above. However, Apple changed the way the iPod/iPhone charges for the iPhone 4 and iPod 7th generation. This means that the iPod connector won't charge the iPhone or iPod.

You will need to get a Scosche to fix this issue.
