Shortly after purchasing the car 2 1/2 yrs ago the check engine light came on but, the car ran fine. I had to spend $200 on it last year just to get a waiver for the inspection. I have had this piece of crap to several places for diagnostic, the Toyota Place in Hickory now tells me I need to take it to Boone, because, they don't know. After 2 years the car now misses and sputters upon take off feels like it will die, but, finally takes gas. I have had modulators fuel filters oxygen sensors egr valve and about any other part available put on the piece of crap and the light is still on and it still runs like crap! Mechanics just shrug their shoulders and refer me somewhere else. Does anyone out there have any suggestions, oh, I have one, don't buy a piece of crap Toyota!
