CarComplaints.com Notes: Owners are reporting that their engines are running out of oil awfully quick. As in, 1 quart every 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains that’s with the “normal†operating range of the 2AZ-FE while owners maintain that’s complete BS.
The issue may be the result of defective piston rings.

On my 2008 Toyota XLE, Crown Toyota in Holland, Michigan wanted $890.00 for an ABS plastic air filter box and new valve, which comes with the air filter box, as one of the plastic hose nipples broke off from it. Inferior abs plastic that weakened from getting hot and cold from motor use.
I got on eBay and found one brand new for $100.00 with free shipping. The place I get my car worked on (not Toyota) agreed to put the new air box assembly in for around $125.00. Total bill $225.00. I would have been screwed if I did not do my research. Toyota inflates their parts charge way to freaking high. Pisses me off to the max.
