When we first bought our Highlander new in August of 07 we heard a slight wind noise coming thru the windshield. It was not that noticeable except when the radio was off.

Now over a year later it is much much worse! Going down the road you can hear it very well with the radio on and with conversations going on. Not only that, but also in the fall of "08 the windshield starts popping and rattling when traveling on a gravel or paved road with small road bumps in it. Sometimes it sounds like the windshield will come out! Took to my Toyota dealership in Jan '09 and told them about it and they said there was a "fix" for it. It lasted 1 week without wind whistle and rattle and then it starts again. They told me that there were pins that were not removed in factory that guided the windshield to be set in and that removing the pins would eliminate the problem. Wrong!! I'm taking again to my dealership tomorrow and leaving it so that they can drive it more and talk to Toyota about it. I hope it gets fixed this time!! Maybe they will install a new windshield. Has anyone else had the same windshield rattle/popping noise and wind whistle and got it resolved?

This problem gets worse the cooler the outside temperature is - above 90 deg it is not noticeable, in the 80's it can barely be heard, in the 70's it is noticeable, but below 60 deg it overcomes the radio! Thankfully, I live in south Florida so I don't hear it all the time. Have taken it to two different dealers for a total of four times and they all agreed they hear it but say it is "normal" for this vehicle. It is so annoying - I curse Toyota everytime I drive the car at highway speeds when the air temperature is below 60 degrees.
