CarComplaints.com Notes: In many ways, the 2012 Cruze continues the legacy of its predecessor. It's a legacy of sluggish transmissions and coolant leaks, but it's still a legacy.

To be fair, the number of complaints about the cooling system are way down versus the 2011 model which led to a class-action lawsuit.

On the flip-side, there's more concerns about brake problems.

However, there were far more Cruze vehicles sold for the 2012 model year so we'll give it our "Beware of this Clunker" badge rather than the "Avoid Like the Plague."

I just recently got the call from Gallimore Motor Group, first the car transmission started slipping, and then followed by the stablitrak flashing. Do not get any cars from this dealer.

One morning while slowing down for the guard gate at work, my radio turned off and a stabilitrac warning light came on. It cleared pretty quickly. It has happened about 3-4 times since normally while coasting down or braking. It once happened when going over a rough patch in the road at about 60 mph. Other times that it has happened the power steering has been impacted and the dashboard lighting. The letter by the company only covers cars less than 10 years old and/or less than 120,000 miles. Mine will cost out of pocket to make known repairs for this issue. This issue also seems to happen when it is 40F or colder outside from what I have seen and read. Total bill for repairs due to two cooling water lines leaking, oil leak on the passenger side, battery cable replacement, along with oil change and tire rotation will be a little over $900.

As a another person stated, which has been my problems EXACTLY, which have been occurring for the past couple of weeks, or so and getting progressively worse, while driving, radio display and speakers turn on and off. Stabilitrack/traction control error message appears on dash. All ABS related icons flash. Sometimes it happens once, sometimes it's repetitive until I turn the car off and then turn it back on. Doesn't matter how fast I'm going and the longer the trip, the more frequent it is. I am not sure what is going on, but I don't have a ton of money during the holidays to spend on repair. Wondering how much something like this would cost, but this seems to be a lot of the same problems that others are experiencing on the internet.
