GM SHOULD HAVE NEVER MADE IMPALAS AS MY MANIFOLD EXPLODED AND IT WAS ON RECALL, AND CAUGHT FIRE, I WAS IN THE CAR WHEN THE MANIFOLD EXPLODED IT COULD HAVE KILLED ME AND MY HUSBAND AND MOTHER IN-LAW. GM YOU ARE ASSHOLES FOR MAKING THAT TYPE OF CAR AND NOT MAKING SURE THAT THE CAR WAS IN GREAT CONDITION TO BE ON THE ROAD IN THE FIRST PLACE. I WANT TO SUE THE HELL OUT OF YOU FOR THE LOSS OF THE VECHICLE AND MY PAIN AND SUFFERING. YOU SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN FOR MAKING CARS THAT HAVE SO MANY RECALLS ON THEM. WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE IS GM SHOULD HAVE RECALLED THE VECHICLES IN QUESTION. AND PAY FOR THE COST OF THE CAR ITSELF..

engine caught fire engine caught fire

Motor blew up and caught on fire with any warning. Car is a total loss. If anyone out there can help me figure out what to do because this was definitely a mechanical defect with the engine fuel combustion and system. This is causing a very bad backfire in the motor.

I bought a 2000 impala through a private sale. relatived owed it first. there had been a recall and relative had never been notified. car engine caught fire totalling the car. thankfully, no one was in the car but i had been driving it that night. gm said they don't wanna do anything about it because the warranty had been up in 2006. problem is that the recall wasn't until 2009. we are now seeking legal help with this matter. i have since had to purchase another vehicle at a time when i wasn't financially prepared.
