Well, I posted on Dex Cool and now I have the security issue. I am done. We were going to replace the engine because of the Dex Cool issues but with this problem also not having an easy fix we are getting rid of it and will never, ever buy a GM product again. We have always been GM but now are thinking about overseas models.

I went out to start my care at 5:45 am. I have to be to work by 6:15. It didn't turn over. Saw the security light flashing and knew it was happening again. This is only the third time in 2 years that it has happened but the first two times I had the starter replaced thinking that was the problem. I knew this last time what it was. I had my daughter take me to work and then upon arriving back home try to start it and low and behold it started again.

I immediatly went to this web site to look up the problem. Called my husband (over the road trucker) and let him know there was no hope to fix it. He said "junk it" so that is what we are doing. I figure we can get more scrapping it than what any dealer would give us for it. It needs a intake gasket, probable head gasket (DexCool and no I didn't qualify for the class action lawsuite) , turn signals work when they want to, headlights will go off for no reason, low coolant light is always on, and now the security issue. Thanks GM for such a wonderful car.

No 'Check Engine'. Oil got into coolant (or the reverse) and the contamination got into the Catalytic converter (Warrantied) cause I couldn't get it into the garage fast enough.

It's wonderful now.

Impala ES 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

About 15,000 miles after they rebuilt my transmission, the car started "slipping" when driven at any speed. Took it in twice and was told there was nothing wrong with it. It finally got so bad that I could not drive it and the "check engine" light came on. They finally figured out the problem and it had something to do with a sensor.

We are taking the car in this week to have it looked at. Am told it could be the catalytic converter and there could possibly be a recall on this. Does any one know anything about this.

Without any warning or idiot lights coming on, my car just started having major problems. It will not accelerate well, it shakes and vibrates when taking out from a stop. I have had the car in the shop for seven days and they still haven't identified any problems yet. They have dropped the exhaust, put on new wires and plugs, new crank sensor and still nothing! Can anyone help??????

You would think an automaker would get it right after all those years of being in business, apparently not. I have been a loyal GM buyer for numerous years, this may well have been my last GM purchase.
