Valve cover gaskets leaked badly, which is the cause of engine fires on the 3800 Series II's and GM recalls a piece of crappy plastic plug wire runner! Morons! The issue is actually the valve cover gasket leaking and the oil falling onto the HOT exhaust headers causing a fire, even if the engine has been turned off! Complained to GM, said that there is no recall and I will have to bring it into the dealer for service! Are you insane? Who in their right mind would take their vehicle to General Motors? Did it myself got the parts (CarQuest parts ONLY) at wholesale and skipped the terrible, incompetent GM labour! Would have been around 8 hours labor and $200.00CDN for the gaskets and grommets if through GM.
