During the winter months the steering will lock up for a second when turning into parking spot. Replaced the belt, did not help. I know there are other complaints about this on 09 Impalas. GM has recalled other cars for the same problem. There have been accidents for this problems. Please let me know of any fixes for this problem. I have read other fixes that have not worked. This is why I have done nothing so far, since it only happens during the winter and only once on a while.
Update from Sep 6, 2015: Had to replace harmonic balancer had come apart. Will replace power steering pump, making noise. Have to see if this fixes steering problems. GM knows it has a problem with the balancer and the steering but will not do a recall.
