The check engine light has been on since at least October of 2019. I changed the exhaust and intake solenoids but the check engine light stayed on. I bought a code reader and the code is P2645. The intake rocker arm oil control valve is not functioning properly. When I drive the car turns off when I stop after I drive for a few minutes. I have been looking to replace this part which is part number #12633613. I have been looking this part since at least January when I finally diagnosed the problem. The responses that I keep getting is the part is on back order or simply the parts stores can not get it. I have searched online and also can't find this part in stock to order it. The only progress I see is the GM has changed the part number to 19419980. I can not find this part in stock anywhere. The only success I had was to find the part in the junkyard yesterday. I put it on and my engine light came back on giving me code P16fc. Which means that part I bought from the junkyard is also not working. That part has no warranty which cost me $27. The engine runs a little smoother but still shuts off sometimes when I stop. Valve 1 isn't working in the first one and valve 2 isn't working in the one I got from the junkyard. This tells me that this is a common problem with this car. The only other part I saw available is a used one on Ebay priced over $500.00 used. I can buy a used engine with that part attached to it for less than that. I refuse to pay that much for a used part that will probably give me the same result as the part I bought from the junkyard. I don't understand how GM can build a car and not make parts to repair it. It is beyond my understanding and tells me something about this company. It is an American car but has a lot of the parts made in China. I don't know if this has something to do with the quality of the parts or not. I recently had to also replace the vacuum pump for the brake booster. Another Chinese made part, but at least I could purchase the part and repair it and keep the car from leaking out all the oil. So it has been 5 months and counting waiting for this part, and because it is probably made in China, who knows when this part will be available especially with this pandemic. But this isn't an excuse because the part wasn't available before the pandemic. This has caused a safety issue with the stopping on the road when driving. This is the only vehicle I have and is needed especially in a time like this. But GM is putting my life and health at risk by not allowing me to repair this car to make it safe to drive. I haven't even finished paying for the car, which I bought 2 years ago used. If anyone else read this just make sure to keep your oil changed, and don't go over the 5000 increment between oil changes. I believe that if you don't keep up with the oil changes, this causes the solenoids to get stuck. So my next step is to try to clean the the faulty parts with throttle cleaner and hopes I can get some results. I like GM cars and want to buy a Surburan, but with this experience I don't think it is wise to buy another car from GM.

Prior of taking car to the dealership and trying to get other things fixed and they always refer to that no code shows so they cant fix it. Tired of dealing with the " If we can't have it happen again while we drive it we don't know what to fix.

My kids and I was in the highway when the car lost power and shuts down. I roll to the side of the road and made the car come to a complete stop, then I get a message saying action required.....Roll driver window down then back up. This was the second time this happened. My kids and my life was spared that day. I don't wanna continue to ride in or pay for a car that puts my life or my passengers (especially my kids) life in harms way...
