There is a current recall on Chevy impalas with the trans mod control system but my vin number is not apart of the recall but my car is doing everything that recalls states. The recall number is 14V614000. The recall date 10-01-2014. My vehicle is 2014 and I have only had it for 2 years.

The 2014 Chevy Impala is dangerous. When the rocker arm control valve and related parts fail or the camshaft solenoids and sensors fail the car will drive rough and eventually just cut off in the middle of traffic highway or residential. This is what it did on me, putting me in a very dangerous position. The economic loss is still devastating financially as all 2.5 and 3.6 engines arent covered by GM special warranty but they should be all covered. My VIN number was not included when it should be.

The electronic parking brake fails to disengage entirely from the rear brake pads causing them to become welded together. This results in extreme heat, excess brake dust, poor acceleration, and caliper / brake line (air) issues.

It was a recall issued in 2014 for stabilitrak for bad grounds on my Chevy Impala and I went to Chevy about it and paid for the diagnostics to check and they told me it was the transmission that I needed. Also, the paper doesn't tell me I needed a transmission fixed, so I took it to 3 different transmission shops and they said it was the ground that was bad. But I was not paying for it and it was a recall issued in 2014 that is happening and is happening to several others as well. I called the GM and asked if its anything they can do about it since it was unde recall they are saying no. And the I have to go pay for diagnostics again so they can see what it is because it may not be same and I did before and Chevy said it was the transmission and the other shops said the transmission is in great shape it was the grounds thats bad and that if the issue was under a recall it should be done again. I take this as safety issue and it puts me and my family in danger and it is my only transportation. So I have my son picking me for work.

I was riding on the highway doing 60mph when my car reduced speed to 34mph and the check engine light came on along with a stabilitrak warning blinking. I also had a bit of shake in my vehicle when it came on and slowed down.

While driving on city streets and the highway, the stablitrax lights come on then service indicators displays: Service stablitrax, front camera, and power steering. The car slows down significantly and the power steering then locks up until you dismiss all of the codes. Then you can hear a clicking that sounds like the car is trying to restart. It happens sporadically. I took it to a shop and he stated to check for recalls because there have been quite a few Impala being brought in for the same reason. I contacted Chevy and they stated that there are no known recalls for my make and model.

The vehicle was driven at a very low speed to andrew chevrolt (1500 w silver spring dr, milwaukee, wi 53209), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

Stabilitrack has been messing up since I purchased this vehicle in October 2018. My car is scary to drive. Sometimes its not clear what gear I'm in. The car will not go over 5 miles per hour when the stabilitrack is messing up. The backup camera does not work when the stabilitrack light is on and sometimes it will not go in reverse. I have to wait and keep turning the car off then wait then try to start it. Stabilitrack needs a recall. I could not back out of my parking spot this morning because of the stabilitrack. It feels like the whole motor moved when I tried to reverse. There were no lights on the panel to know what gear I was in but it wad clear it skipped the reverse. When it finaly let me back up after turning the car on and off several times I could only eccelerate 3 miles per hour.

The cruise control button sticks, when being pushed it clicks hard to get to work. The most important started a couple of weeks ago with the steering wheel on moving and pushing the gas makes a clunky and grinding sound and feel, the vehicle does not go anywhere then, the stability light comes on. The car starts moving, and the wheel frees up and the light goes out. This is every time I'm turning left after from a stopped position.

Impala

  • 61,000 miles
Blind spot detection system began to fail, indicated by the side mirror indicators remaining on even after the car was shut off. Dealer service center diagnostic test showed the battery was old. The problem progressed to the point where the instrument cluster would also fail - all instruments (speedometer, tachometer, etc.) would go dead, virtually all warning lights (traction control, ABS, air bag, etc.) would go on, heating system (including blower) would go dead and turn signals and hazard light would be inoperative. All of this would happen while driving, whether in city traffic or at highway speeds. Although the main operation of the vehicle has not yet been affected, there is no way to signal other drivers of a problem (no hazard light or turn signals) in the event of a larger failure. Research of online customer forums shows that this problem is common with the latest generation (2014 and newer) Impala. The blind spot detection system is connected to the instrument cluster and this occurs randomly while driving.

Today is the second time in 6 months that my car has done this. 2014 Chevy Impala 62,000 miles, 4 cylinder. I was driving on the highway at 65 miles an hour and first the "service stabilitrak" warning comes up. Then the "engine power reduced" warning appears. The engine will not go above 20 mph at this point. This is very dangerous especially if you are on the highway at speeds of 65 and suddenly you have no power! I took it to my mechanic who could find nothing wrong with the car. He told me to pull over and shut the car off and restart it. I did that and the check engine light is on but I did get my engine power back. I'm terrified driving this car. Someone is going to get killed in this situation. I read all over the internet about this same problem and nothing is being done about it. This should be a recall!

Driving to work and all the emergency lights on my dashboard came on for no reason. The speedometer, tachometer, gas gauge, temperature gauge, radio and heater/ac controls and turn signals quit working. Additional warning lights on dashboard we're stabiltrac, ABS, air bag, tire monitor and brake light. Previous to this we had problems with the blind spot monitor system not functioning. The car has been at the dealership now for about 5 weeks with no answer. They currently have 3 other Impala with the same problem. We live in a town of under 10,000 people so what are the odds that we are the only ones. Sorry I do not have access to my VIN number at this time.

Impala 4-cyl

  • 50,000 miles
On 12/21/16 while merging onto interstate 10 in tucson, AZ, the vehicle was going approximately 65 mph when a "engine power reduced" sign popped up, the vehicle slowed down to 30 mph without warning and shifting down through all gears nearly red lining the rpms and causing an rear-end collision. Was able to move the vehicle off the freeway and took it into local auto-zone for testing. The test came back as a "throttle sensor malfunction". the vehicle now doesn't feel safe to drive, and will not accelerate over 45 mph without shaking and feeling like the transmission is going to give out. Called the local Chevy dealership and was told the cost was going to vary between $400-1,000 with a $100 test fee up front. I've also read numerous similar issues online from people driving Chevrolet Impala from 2006-2016. The car feel very unsafe to drive and I feel it could be a death trap as there is no control over when the vehicle will choose to decelerate without warning. There has been no mechanical issues before this incident, and the vehicle has been through numerous mechanical maintenance up-keeps that were recommended by service managers.

My Impala 2014 suddenly says 'service stabilitrak' in the display and the engine power drastically reduces. I have see this in forums that is a common issue with GM cars and it happened to me couple of times. This is a very dangerous issue when happens at freeways or any faster traffic routes.
