i Have that same problem..mine doesnt work unless it is on 3 or higher...also my A/C doesnt hold a charge that long...maybe two to three months

The AC/Heater fan doesn't work until 3 or higher, very annoying sometimes. Haven't looked into fixing it but it seems to be a problem with the Malibu's.

Fan speeds will slowly stop working, you have to replace the resistor pack under the dash.

Its a very common problem as the pack overheats and resistors burn up.
