The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation, engine code P1404). I have already had the EGR replaced once. The problem this time the mechanic says it is would most likely be clogging below the actual EGR part. I have read up on this and now know that the check engine light comes on commonly for this because it is a software concern.
