Sooo my car has been having the reduced engine power light come on, as well as the check engine light, then while driving all the lights on the dash board comes on and goes haywire (since 2021). Speedometer goes out don't know how fast I am going. Took it to the dealership and was told I need to replace the engine. $12,000.

Dealership says I run the risk of the engine just stopping, they don't know when it could be next month, 1 year, 2 years from now. My service agent begins to say your car is older it will have issues you might want to consider another car. I DON"T THINK SO!!!! I ask the Service agent does Chevrolet know of this, is it a recall? He says no. Then I took it to Aamco with the check engine light on, and they said the engine is burning the oil off. I didn't have oil in my car.

Aamco suggest engine replacement $6k used engine with 70,000 miles. NO WAY!!!! Aamco says check oil every time I fill up the car. So I am now topping off my own oil and the dash board lights and check engine light don't come on as frequent. I have had so many other issues with this car. NOPE, I won't be purchasing another Chevrolet. I had my other car for 16 years and over 200,000 miles and traded it in because of the oil pan issue which cost more than the car was worth.

reduced engine power

Went and got an oil change Saturday, car was running fine. I go to leave and not even 5 miles down the road, the check engine light comes on and "engine power is reduced". It is one thing after another. I don't recommend anybody buying a Malibu. Ever. I talked to the owner and he reviewed the cameras of the pit and the employee performed the standard oil change.

DRIVING AT 50 MILES AN HOUR, ALL OF A SUDDEN ENGINE LIGHT BEGINS TO FLASH AND IT'S RUNNING VERY ROUGH, ALMOST UNDRIVABLE. I FOUND OUT CHEVY KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM, BECAUSE OF SOME KIND OF NEW DESIGN WITH THE ENGINE. NOT COVERED ON WARRANTY. WHAT KIND OF BULLSHIT IS CHEVY TRYING TO PULL OVER ON US? THIS IS THE ONLY CAR I HAVE, DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO GET FIXED. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVY IF CHEVY DOES NOT HELP ME WITH THE COSTS INVOLVED.

Engine power is reduced is one of the lights that keeps coming on. check battery charging system and service staibilitrax. when I stop at a stop sign or stop light the car cuts off. I lost my job due to a customer complaining about my car stalling while I was dropping them off. Car is just not worth all the money I keep putting in it. I've had just about every sensor replaced. oil pressure switch, camshaft, crankshaft position, 02 sensors, and about 5 others two new batteries, spark plugs, water pump, thermostat, tensioner and belt. the Terry Cullens chevy dealership in Jonesboro Ga. told me it was the water pump tensioner and belt so I had all of those things replaced. still had the same problem. just wasting money with all there guessing. It broke down while my 19 year old daughter was driving it last. the steering wheel locked up and she got scared. she finally got it to the side of the road and left it there. she then had to walk until she could get a Lyft to pick her up at 3:00 in the morning. I've had 4 Chevys and this one is the worse. I won't be buying another one. just lost a long time customer. Gracie

2013 Chevy Malibu. 40,800. Has happened twice in the last 2 weeks, the car will completely die on me when I come to a complete stop. Everything else will still be working but it will give a small shake and the rpms will hit 0. I am able to put it in park and fire it right back up afterwards????

Driving to work, going up a mountain, stabilitrac system error engine performance will be reduced. Went from 65 MPH to 30 and barely made it up the hill. Almost hit by several tractor trailers. Made it to work 20 minutes late. Checked car 4 hours later, message gone. Checked it again, message back. The car is only two years old, piece of crap. Had a Hyundai Sonata for 9 years 300,000 miles only in shop once for repairs. 2nd big problem with this car so far and barely 50,000 miles. Buy American...never again..
