- Summary
- This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a drone type noise that can be present while the vehicle is operating in the 1900-1950 revolutions per minute range. Technician will need to verify that the active noise cancellation fuse is good, terminal tension has proper tension, and all connectors are seated properly. Technician should play any audio source and ensure that all speakers are working by using the fade and balance settings. Technician should gain access to the 3 active noise cancellation microphones and test terminal tension, resistance, and mounting. Also verify that there are no mechanical issues with the vehicle. If no concerns were found during testing unplug the X3 connector at the active noise cancellation module until General Motors has provided a solution for this concern.
