Silverado LT 6.6L Diesel

Five times the system flashes a Reduced Power message and the vehicle almost stops in the middle of the road. Pull to the side and then restart and the thing is okay. Seems to happen only during first hour of start up.

Silverado LX V8

  • Automatic transmission

The truck gradually lost power and performance and then started running rough. The shop I use said the injectors were full of sand and had to be removed to clean. After asking, I further learned there was no replaceable fuel filter on this year model truck. What brilliant f**ng engineer thought to do that? The dealership stated that contamination has not been an issue....bull! Then tell me why they went back to using fuel filters on the later model trucks? I had to get a fuel line repair kit and a filter from a 2004 model truck and install it on my 2006 BUT not before I had to get the injectors cleaned for a second time!!!! Thanks Chevrolet, you have convinced me to now own a Toyota.
