I started noticing in March of this year that sometimes my antilock brakes kicked in when there was no apparrent reason for them to do so. First it was maybe once a week and then it got to be everyday. I took my truck to the dealer where it was purchased, applegate Chevrolet, and they seemed to know right away what was wrong. My anti-lock brake sensors were corroted. $300 later it was fixed. Three of the sensors they were able to clean, one broke. I have the broken one that had to be totally replaced.

Problems with ABS system, very tough on brakes. Had 3 sets of brakes in 68,000. ABS cuts in when just before you come a stop. ABS has been going past 2 months. Consumer has had the problem checked (ABS) already.

I have a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado. The ABS system fails to stop my vehicle in all types of normal situations which has already led to one accident. This was my first accident ever and thanks to my dealer who said there was no problem with my brakes I am sure this wont be the last accident. The vehicle brake system will freeze up if so much as a pebble vibration is felt, or stopping on a completely smooth and clean road normally. The scary thing is, I never know when my brakes are going to fail, and since there is no difference in between a smooth road or a pothole disabling the brakes I do not feel comfortable in my own vehicle. I have rolled through intersections, rolled through stop signs, and had one accident in this vehicle. I beleive that the Chevrolet company needs to correct this problem immediatly, for the liability and safty of all consumers. I am not the only person with brake problems in the Chevrolet Silverado from 1999 to current, I have met several and they were all told they have no probelms with there vehicles either. We are waitng for Chevrolet to correct this faulty brake system.
