CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2012 Chevrolet Sonic is fairly new & is already showing an early trend of transmission problems.
Owners report hesitation when shifting & grinding/hard shifting into gears. Some dealers are calling the condition "normal". Another owner reported his dealership replaced the transmission under warranty, but the new transmission had the same exact grinding problem. Design defect?

My horn died! I began to notice its demise when remote locking the vehicle (2012 sonic HB) and listening for the audible 'chirp' from the horn.
As time went on, over the span of a few days, the chirp got more and more garbled like it was being drowned out, then/now it totally quiet. I feel as if this is a Safety concern since it is my primary means to signal to other vehicles on the road during a moment of crisis.
Since my car is a SUB COMPACT and because of that, people driving high rise SUV's and even some cars don't see me unless I have my brights (hi-beam headlights) on. First thing I did was swap the fuse with one of my spares I have in the box. Its not the fuse. I unbolted all 16 bolts and fasteners to expose the horn and tested wire connectivity. Connections are solid. Is my next step now going to be to BUY a replacement OEM horn, just to stoop to 'throwing parts at it' and hope that fixes it?
With only one day off a week due to my work/school schedule, I can't just leave my car at the dealership for a week while they troubleshoot it. I have driven my 2012 Chevy Sonic 5DR LT2 1.8L N/A from the 2520 miles it came to me with to now 46000 and I absolutely love my hatchback!
