I bought a 2017 Chevrolet Spark for my daughter from a reputable car dealership in Northern KY. The dealership purportedly serviced and did a check of the engine of the spark and after fixing a few minor problems we were told the spark was in good condition. We bought the car with no warranty trusting the dealership did due diligence with their inspection.
Just a couple months later, my daughter started having problems with the shifting of gears and extreme shaking of her car. After taking the car to a transmission specialist we found out she needs a whole new transmission at a cost of $4,200. That is a little less than half of what we paid for the car. Extremely upset. After researching the Chevrolet Spark we see that there seems to be continual problems with the transmission. There should be enough complaints to warrant a recall.
I will absolutely never buy a Chevy again. I have 4 children. Since 2017 we have purchased 6 used cars with no warranty and not a single problem with any of them. We purchased a Smart 4 2 car, a Toyota, a Kia, 2 fords and the terrible Chevrolet. Shame on me for trusting the dealership to sell us a safe car and shame on Chevrolet for not addressing transmission problems.
