CarComplaints.com Notes: Engines shouldn't need a new quart of oil every 500-1000 miles, but for thousands of Suburban owners that's exactly what's happening. Engine oil consumption on aluminum block engines with Active Fuel Management (AFM) is out of control and owners are left looking for answers.

The most likely culprit is an uncovered AFM valve which, in many cases, can be covered under warranty. The problem is the issues don't stop there and many owners have been told by GM just to buy a new engine. Take one guess who they want to pick up the tab.

In November 1008 the driver's side outside chrome door handle began coming loose from the door. It was replaced under warranty, failed part #25960525. Now, in June 2011, the rear driver's side outside chrome door handle is coming loose from the door. Will take it to the dealer when we return from a scheduled trip.

There is a recall for the chrome door handles on the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, but I am having the same problem with the chrome in my 2007 Chevrolet Suburban. The dealer says the Suburban is not part of the recall even though it is the exact same problem in almost the same car. This recall needs to be expanded. I have had two people cut their hands on my door handle, and I'm going to just sand it down myself or wrap it with duct tape.

Purchased new and own a 2007 Chevy Suburban. We have cut our hands several times opening the driver side door when pulling the inside door handle inward. This has been caused by the peeling fake chrome plastic that covers the inside handle. This peeling fake chrome creates a sharp edge as it peels off that is directly positioned to rub across one's fingers as you pull the door handle in toward you to open the door.

We have a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban ltz. We paid extra for an automatic rear lift gate, which you can open with your key remote, . last week the automatic gate started malfunctioning. The gates lifts up a few feet then slams back down. Luckily our small child did not get under the lift gate or I am afraid she would have been severely injured by the rear gate slamming closed. We were told by the dealership that the gears are striped on the lift gate. 2 1/2 years of use and the gears are striped?
