They replaced the part under recall/warranty. Since then I haven't been able to use it. So I paid for something that has NEVER WORKED PROPERLY AND WILL NEVER WORK AGAIN. SERIOUSLY, this is what I get for spending a small fortune on a SUV?
Update from May 22, 2014: Chevy recently sent me a postcard saying it was recalled YET AGAIN. I thought this issue was fixed in 2010 but apparently they found a new remedy to fix it. "We will fix this by replacing the part" Afterwards I checked online to see what they did, and WOW! I find out that they just took the part out, they don't know how to fix it so they just remove it. I looked at my original paperwork when buying this truck and I paid a LOT for this, the truck was $55 pif@time of purchase and now I find out 6 yrs later that I paid for something they just took out, and that I've never been able to use, as the dealer in Ft Hood TX said "try not to use this unless it's absolutely necessary." Why doesn't CHEVY/GM Just ask the dealers what they have to fix and then send out the recalls? Wait, they get the list of complaints thru the dealer but they don't do anything....they just brush it under the rug and hope that we continue to buy their products. Since no one was killed it doesn't get fixed? Will I be getting a refund for the part they made that broke and never worked after fix, and than was removed? No I won't, thank you AGAIN GM!
