CarComplaints.com Notes: This might be the Tahoe sweet spot. The 2013 has a great safety rating (as long as you don't roll it over), tons of room and few complaints. What it doesn't have is the interior accessory problems of the older or newer generations.

Rear window defroster electrical connector on driver's side broke while opening glass hatch. Soldered joint broke away from glass. Seems as if the electrical wire is too short or under too much tension. Back glass will no longer defrost limiting visibility. Vehicle was stationary when problem occurred.

Rear defrost wire constantly separates from the glass. We have been to various dealerships more than a dozen times and the same problem persists. Many of these repairs have included a brand new back window and wiring and the problem continues to occur. Our truck has been in and out of the dealer for days at a time only to break again within days/weeks of repair. This creates a very unsafe driving experience, especially in the winter months (now) when we cannot see out of the back window. This case is fully registered with the dealership and with GM directly, but no permanent resolution has been identified. The wire is currently detached, it fell off again within 24 hours of the last repair. This has happened both while the vehicle is stationary and while it is moving.

The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe. In inclement weather, water entered from the rear doors and leaked into the rear door paneling. As the failure progressed, the contact heard an abnormal noise of water moving around within the rear door paneling. Multiple dealers were notified. The dealer indicated that the failure was a known issue, but the manufacturer had not issued a recall to provide a solution. The contact was uncertain if the vehicle would be repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was waiting for a solution. The VIN and failure mileage were not available.
