My dash is cracked in 3 places. One is around the passenger airbag. If the air bag is deployed it could send jagged edges into the face of a passenger. Very unsafe and GM just ignores the problem. I had a cracked dash with a Lexus and they replaced the dash no problem. Why won-€™t GM fix this problem?

My 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe has a 2 inch crack in the dashboard on the passenger side tthat starts at the top left corner of the rectangular "cut out" to the edge of that piece of the dashboard. I am concerned that the effectiveness of the air bag if the car is impacted and do not trust GM's analysis of this question. From what I am reading on the internet, this problem is happening all too often and needs to be fixed by GM. This problem could absolutely be a serious, life threatening issue in case of an accident.

The manufacturer and dealer (covert Buick GMC 11750 research blvd, austin, tx 78759 (512) 583-3411) indicated that further testing was being done for months by GM and they had not yet provided a remedy and parts to service the air bag issue. The manufacturer was contacted again to determine when the vehicle would receive the recall repair parts. The contact was not experiencing a failure.

Driving down the road, my dashboard cracked on the corner of the passenger side air bag. The dashboard was not struck in anyway or the car did not hit a bump. I'm afraid of the crack being there because it is so close to the airbag housing.

Driving on the interstate (I-90 mt), on cruise control, braking for a car in front going slower, found that no braking occurred, sudden acceleration to 90 mph, tried to change gears, turn off engine, pump brakes without results, then glancing blow to vehicle in front, no airbags deployed, bailed off road into burrow pit, eventually slowed.
