Purchased car with 120 miles, about 25K miles I noticed small delay in acceleration when going from complete stop. Mentioned to dealer they stated all was ok. At 50K miles the delay in acceleration was far more noticeable. I would accelerate and RPM would go up to 4,5 OR6 before car would move start to move. Brought back to dealer, did road test with tech and he acknowledged that something didn't feel right stated he would have transmission specialist look it over. After having car for 2 weeks we did another road test with master technician and he stated hard shifting was normal acceleration for this truck because of variable transmission. He said ultimately there are no trouble codes so car is 100% fine. At 63,000 miles the transmission gave out! I drove car on highway about 145 miles with no issue, I was driving on a city street when I stopped at a red light. The light turned green and when I pressed on accelerator car would not move. Finally after a few seconds of engine revving car jerked back and rolled forward slightly. Was able to drive car into strip mall parking lot. Took back to dealer and they are saying the transmission is out but can't explain why we still have no trouble codes! they are not willing to cover because it is 3,000 miles out of warranty.

Transmission seems to be slipping while in drive. Revs high but doesn't shift into gear nearly leaving me strained at an intersection after traffic light changed. Would struggle to get up to speed while shifting through the gears. I bought vehicle used with approximately 85K miles in April 2019 and previous owner had all the maintenance completed as required. The vehicle has roughly 90K miles on now. Vehicle has been sitting at Chevy dealer in imlay city, Michigan almost two weeks and they have yet to repair the vehicle. I've used this vehicle to tow my boat. When in reverse and backing boat into water at boat ramp I've applied the brakes and it seems to take a second or two for the brakes to react making it feel like the vehicle is still moving in reverse. Not sure if this an issue with the recent brake recall Sept 2019 or transmission issues.

While driving down a city street, transmission slips and/or does not catch on acceleration. Jerking motion as it searches to catch gears. Faint burning smell.

I put our Tahoe into park and went into a convenience store. Unfortunately, when I came back my Tahoe was gone. It had rolled down and out of the parking lot into an electric pole guide wire. But, after much research, video replay and trying to duplicate the problem, I think I might understand happened. You can actually put the gear shift lever in a position where it thinks its in park, without the transmission being in park. The indicator says its in park, and the doors unlock, thinking its in park, but the transmission isn't actually locked in park because the lever is in an up position and not back. If you hit the power button with the lever in this up position, and get out of the vehicle without looking at the display saying the "shift to park", the car can roll because its actually in reverse. For me no display should say its in park if its not.

Vehicle stutters and loses power and lunges after coming to a complete stop and taking off ususally between 2nd and 3rd gear and 3rd and 4th gear. Has been idling rough as if it is missing or out of time. Veh has had a power surge and accelerated independently. Has down shifted from 4th to 2nd while travelling up hill and veh slowed and would not shift again. Veh has to be turned off and restarted.

On 3 separate occasions, the 2016 Tahoe I am driving has jumped from drive to neutral while driving down the road at speeds between 45-60 mph. On one occasion, I was fortunate to avoid a major accident while merging on the interstate. I have since turned the vehicle in. GM dealerships in baton rouge, la refuse to fix the vehicle. I have seen quite a few complaints on this same issue and hope that GM steps up to the plate before someone dies. Owners around the world need to be notified because somewhere someone may have already lost their lives in an accident and did not live to tell about why the accident occurred. The family should be getting retribution from GM. Very sad. My last GM vehicle.

While driving on highway, when needing to accelerate to pass vehicle using medium to medium heavy acceleration, instead of transmission kicking down to passing gear, it hangs up into neutral and engine revs up to and pass redline before I was able to release accelerator pedal. After letting off accelerator when the engine winds down to around 3500 revs it severely engages into gear with a loud bang and jolts the entire vehicle. This has happened 3 times and is going in to dealership in 4 days. Vehicle has 4473 miles on it. Vehicle also has several other severe electrical issues but after exhaustive procedure to have GM replace or buy back vehicle they have refused. This is my fourth Tahoe and will be my last. A loyal Tahoe owner for a long time and the new one is the worse. Terrible customer service for a vehicle of over $77,000 and less than 5000 miles on it.

While traveling on the pa turnpike 3/31/16 apprx.3:00 pm, I experienced total transmission failure. Only after seeing smoke emitting from the vehicle, would the heavy traffic allow me to pull to the shoulder. I put the trans into park and back into drive, allowing me to move appx 100 yards to a safer pull off. The vehicle is at the dealer and GM has been contacted case # 8-1908837872. No further contact by me to GM, or from GM to me.
