Fan speed settings 1, and 5 didnt work. to fix it all you have to do is replace the blower resistor motor. just get the part from autozone and go under the dash and get a 7mm ratchet and take bots off the plastic piece under the dash and isconnect the connectors and get the new resistor and plug it back in

Trailblazer LT EXT 4.2L 6 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 65,000 miles

One day the blower switch stopped working on the lowest speed (1). 1 now acts like you have blower turned off. Other speeds still work, though speed 5 only works if both top and bottom vents are selected. Not sure if that's a problem or a "feature". Speed 5 has worked this way since I bought it in '06. Oh, and every once in a while speed 1 DOES decide to work. Go figure...

THIS IS THE SECOND COMPLAINT ENTERED ON THE SAME VEHICLE. THE FAN SWITCH WENT OUT, WENT TO THE DEALER PURCHASED A NEW SWITCH, INSTALLED IT AND NOW IF I TRY AN USE MY DEFROST IT MAKES THE CAR STALL. I HAVE TO KEEP IT ON FEET JUST TO DEFROST THE WINDOWS. CALLED THE DEALER TO INFORM THEM OF WHAT WAS GOING ON THEY SAID I WOULD NEED TO BRING IT IN AND LET THEM DIAGNOSE IT AGAIN WHICH IS ANOTHER 86.00 AFTER I PURCHASED THE PART FROM THEM WHICH APPEARS TO BE DEFECTIVE. WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE IT AGAIN
