On December 20th 2010 I drove about one mile to the post office. I turned my trailblazer off and went into the post office. When I returned to my vehicle, it would not start. The headlights where bright as if the battery had no problem, yet it would not start. Finally was able to start it after connecting battery cables to another vehicle. Though it took 6 or 7 tries before it finally turned over (started up). Once I got it home, it would not start again. It's sitting in the garage at this present time. This is about the 5th time I have experience this since I bought it new in 2003. No one has been able to detect what the problem is.

I attempted to start my vehicle, but it would not start. I decided to buy a new battery to see if this was the problem. It did start once I put in a new battery, but I soon found out this was not the problem, because I had the same problem (wouldn't start) two months later. I then took it to a battery/alternator/ repair shop. They recharged the battery and the car started up. They kept the vehicle for 2 days to see if they could find any problems, but they didn't. Once I picked the trailblazer up, it ran well for about a month. Then the same problem with not starting happened again.

Trailblazer LS 2WD 4.2L V6

I have a 2003 Trailblazer. I replaced the dash cluster on 9-22-08. It went bad again in July 2009 and caused a draw on the battery. I live in Phoenix, AZ so dead batteries are a yearly occurrence. I suspected that this was just another over-heated battery. The draw on the battery was finally diagnosed as a faulty cluster in October. Yep, 2 weeks after the warranty on the replaced cluster expired. Warranty Dept. refuses to replace the part claiming it was another component that went bad in July, caused the draw and then fixed itself so as to not be detected during the October diagnosis. The cluster itself didn't go bad until October, according to their review. Oh, forgot to mention, one service agent at dealership claimed that in all his years in maintenance he has never seen a dash cluster cause a draw on the battery. I'm so tired of the continual lies from GM's employees.

So many issues with GM vehicles, this is just the latest. At GM, we'll sell you a cheap vehicle and keep you coming back....for repairs and maintenance.

Trailblazer EXTV6 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 92,000 miles

I bought my 2003 in May 2008 and I continuously have the same problem. When I jump it, the battery shows a full charge. It happens at least 1X per week. Also I try to put gas in the tank, and it will constantly shut off as though it is a full tank. I have to stand at the pump and pump the gas in so slowly. You can hear the gas go to the top of the tank immediately after you try to put the gas in. At times I will start the Trailblazer and maybe the lights won't come on or the window won't roll up. Very frustrating. Just allot of really inconvenient and weird things. Sometimes it will say that I need to service the 4WD and then you start the truck again and that light will be off.

My Trailblazer goes dead on me all the time! The dealership said it was the battery and I had that replaced and it continues to do the same thing. What ever the problem is, it is causing the whole electrical system to not work properly.. such as you can't reset the oil change meter after you get a oil change!
