Summary
This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have whistle, scrape or whine type noise while driving that may be more noticeable during regenerative braking. Technician may find this noise emanating from the left side of the drive unit. The noise may be caused by the drive motor B rotor bearing cage separated. Technician should replace the bearing with the new updated part number. Technician should also inspect the end cover for any abnormal bushing wear, if found the side cover will also require replacement.
