I was on vacation in the Wisconsin Dells. I was driving across the parking lot on a cold morning and my Check Engine light came on right as the engine started as I accelerated from a stop. OnStar told me it was a severe issue with the high-voltage system and that I should get it serviced as soon as possible. I parked the car and shut it off, and it would not restart.
I had to get the vehicle towed back to my hometown 2.5 hours away (thankfully covered by GM after a bit of fighting) so that my home dealer could fix the car. It took them 2.5 weeks to fix it because they needed to order a replacement segment for the car's high-voltage traction battery (one of the segments had a manufacturing defect which took a few thousand miles to manifest, apparently). I was stuck driving a 2015 Malibu as a loaner the whole time.
