17197 - Service Update. Some vehicles may have contact between an evaporative emission pipe and air conditioning (A/C) hose. Over time, such contact may wear a hole into the pipe causing a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) to illuminate and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0442 may set. Dealers will inspect the pipe for wear, install a bumper on the pipe; and if necessary, replace the purge pipe.
