This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a radio and/or audio is inoperative or intermittently inoperative. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code U0186. Technician should inspect amplifier X1 terminal 4 (circuit 1140) and X1 terminal 8 (circuit 1450) for spread terminals, broken terminals, connectors/terminals not fully seated, and faulty terminal crimps. Technician will need to repair any wiring damage that is found.
